Landing Craft Assault (LCA)

Postby Rumrunner » Sat Jul 07, 2012 6:24 pm

Built for my WW II Juno Beach D-Day display, the Landing Craft Assault (LCA) was a British designed and built landing craft used extensively in World War II. Its primary purpose was to ferry troops from transport ships to attack enemy-held shores.

Brickarms used in this project:

3 x Gunmetal Brodie hemets
3 x Brown Lee Enfield rifles (stowage)
12 x Brass Ammo Clips (stowage)
1 x Black LMG (modded to represent the front mounted Bren gun)
54 x Gunmetal Monopods (used as the base for the 3 passenger benches)

C & C always welcome:

Trust me when I say I have more than enough Brickarms and certainly don't need anymore for awhile (some one slap some sense back into me).

Glad you like the LCA but in all honesty I don't build to win contests. If my projects inspire younger builders or just bring them a bit of enjoyment then that's the real prize to me.

Don't say this to often, very smart build, well thought out and clever use of brick! Fits your collection well!

The only issue I have with your work is that there's only a finite number of adjectives for "great" I can use before I start repeating myself ad nauseum ;)

Really, like always, accurate, beautifully-built, perfectly scaled, and with all the little details like make all your MOCs the great work they are. Thanks for posting it, and I always look forward to more!

Much appreciated. It was quite fun to build as this was my first time building any kind of water craft and I learned a ton.

My goal is to build a second one for the first expansion of my Juno Beach display (already starting on it) and more than likely two more on top of that for the third expansion of the display which will occur in 2013.

Thanks, when I started counting how many Brickarms items I used I was quite shocked when I realized this boat has 73 various Brickarms items.

By my old house I lived right by a old factory that used to make those. It was awesome. One suggestion is though to show all those monopod you used. Its a shame that you can't see them.
